#SBS Winners Event 2019

SBS Winners Event 2019 | Jude Read-HR ConsultancyAs proud winners of #SBS (Small Business Sunday), we were invited to attend the incredible and highly inspirational #SBS Winners Event on Tuesday 12 February 2019 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. Hosted by the founder, Theo Paphitis, Retail Entrepreneur famed for his appearance on Dragon’s Den, the agenda for the day included a variety of special guests and motivational speakers – from billionaire Sir Tom Hunter to Raja Saggi, Head of SME Marketing for Google UK & Ireland. There was huge support for all the #SBS winners including 1-2-1 sessions with experts in their field, breakout sessions delivered by the sponsors and free professional photographs for marketing purposes from HP.

We’re an #SBS Winner!

At Jude Read-HR Consultancy, we received a huge business boost from Theo Paphitis when we tweeted about our business during ‘Small Business Sunday’, which resulted in Theo selecting and retweeting our post to his 500,000 Twitter followers. As #SBS winners, we now have a profile on the Small Business Sunday website and we are able to attend exclusive networking events with high-profile business leaders.

“I was thrilled to hear that my company had become an #SBS winner! We really enjoyed the #SBS Winners event, which was an exciting opportunity to meet and network with other winning businesses, and to hear talks from leading business people. We were particularly inspired by Sir Tom Hunter, successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and Scotland’s first home grown billionaire. Sir Tom delivered an amazing session and we were genuinely moved by his passion.”

#SBS was launched in October 2010 and 370,000 applications have been made since then resulting in 2,500 #SBS winners so far. Less than 1% of the entries have successfully become #SBS winners and we are delighted to be one of those businesses.

Theo Paphitis – Small Business Sunday

For those of you who are not aware, #SBS is a weekly initiative created by Theo Paphitis in 2010. Every Sunday, Theo invites businesses to tweet him and he then shortlists and retweets six lucky winners. Winning businesses are also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com), which is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Small businesses benefit from winning #SBS in many ways, one is a boost to the online presence across the UK on Twitter. #SBS winners are like a family, supporting each other on Twitter and on a private Facebook page. #SBS has also just launched on Instagram @thesbs_crew.

As well as being Chairman for Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue, Theo Paphitis is a small business champion. As a result, winning businesses often experience increased media publicity and sales, due to being part of the #SBS Winners network. The winners are then invited to exclusive events, where they can meet other businesses and listen to prominent business people talk about their own successes.
